Humans In Space is dedicated to solidifying its presence as a global leader in space healthcare. By collaborating with International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) to host the Humans In Space Roadshow at International Astronautical Congress (IAC) and Accelerating Space Commerce, Exploration, and New Discovery (ASCEND), we are expanding our reach and driving innovation in both space and terrestrial healthcare applications.
2024 HUMANS IN SPACE - FINAL PITCH SESSION
The 2024 Humans In Space Final Pitch at the IAC was the culmination of the global Humans In Space (HIS) Challenge, aimed at transforming healthcare in space and on Earth. It consisted of a live Q&A with more than 30 HIS experts, welcome remarks by the CEO of Boryung, IAF Executive Director Christian Feichtinger, and Director of NASA HRP David Baumann, as well as a special keynote from Spanish astronaut Pedro Duque, along with groundbreaking pitches from 11 teams. Winners of this year’s HIS Challenge will receive equity investments or the opportunity to send their experiments into space via Orbital Launch Funding.
ASTRONAUTS TALK ON HUMANS IN SPACE
The esteemed panel of 5 astronauts (Koichi Wakata, Michael LA, Walter Villadei, Alper Gezeravci, Eytan Stibbe), recruited by Boryung, shared valuable insights into the healthcare challenges encountered before, during, and after their missions. They highlighted groundbreaking life science research conducted on the ISS and emphasized the significance of Space healthcare for astronaut well-being and future space exploration.
GNF SESSION: 2024 HUMANS IN SPACE - MULTI-PLANETARY HUMAN LIFE ENABLER
Leaders from Europe's Space Healthcare ecosystem—Jens Jordan (DLR), Audrey Berthier (Medes), Jonathan Scott (European Space Center), and Serena Pezzilli (ASI)—came together to discuss international collaboration. The session explored how biomedical research, designed to mitigate healthcare risks in space, can contribute to building an accessible Space Healthcare ecosystem and benefit terrestrial healthcare.
